After work yesterday, at about 8pm, I went to the gym to work out. My usual workout consists of running for 20-25 mins or so, and then lifting weights. I usually run with my mp3 player…which is nice, listening to good music is a good timepass while running. I was under the impression (as you maybe) that I would prefer to listen to upbeat…dhastik dhustik songs while running. Some crazy bhangra or hip hop songs and such. That is what I usually did…but yesterday, it just happened that when I hit play on the mp3 player, Ghulam Ali’s version of Woh Jo Hum Mein Tum Mein came on. This is a very serene ghazal…that I usually listen to it during late nights when I am working. For some reason, I decided to not change the song…and it went on, and I kept running. Then 6-7 minutes later, it changed to Itni Muddat Bad Mile Ho…and that went on, and I kept running. And before I knew it… almost15 minutes had passed! I was really enjoying this Ghulam Ali run.

So I guess there is no real point to this post, except for pointing out my discovery that when you are running, you don’t have to be listening to crazy up beat music to be inspired to keep going :)

And since showering is a popular topic nowadays…I took a hot shower in the gym after my workout, and man it felt GREAT!

This might seem like an embarrasing type of post. But hey, that’s what family is for. You can be yourself and don’t have to worry about saying anything, right ;)

Dhiren had been leaving early and coming late for the past couple days. And as we shifted Parth from his cradle to crib for his naps and sleep, he had been a little fussy and not taking his usual naps. So I was playing with him and trying to put him to sleep almost for whole days. In the midst of all this, I never had a chance to take a shower for past 2 days :( because unless Parth falls sound asleep, I can’t leave him alone to take even a quick shower. Today Dhiren had some free time in the afternoon, so he came home for couple hours. First thing that came to mind and I told him, “let me go take a shower”. And I swear, being in the shower had never felt so good. What a refreshing experience! :)

Hello all,

I want to post something that my chief of nephrology at SUNY has taught me. Being a physician, patients expect you to know all the answers. With the field of Medicine so evolving there always are questions for which we dont know the answers. But it used to feel awkward to tell the patient “I dont Know”. He taught us that it is okay to say “I dont know”when you really dont know. I was surprised that the patients actually liked that I was being honest and this made me go ahead and find the answers to their questions. This way everybody benefits by this simple truth.

Messy rooms have been on my mind lately. I am not that messy, but I sometimes just don’t SEE how much more tidy my apt could be. Maybe it’s a perception thing, but I really find it amazing. The other day, my friend Tiku came over my place, and she was like “whoa! your place has gotten messy!” In my mind, it really wasn’t that bad…but then, she helped me tidy it, and I was really shocked at the kind of improvement that was possible! I guess it’s hard to explain, but now my room looks like it is almost empty, but in reality, everything is just arranged very well.

On the other hand, her email box is a MESS. There are no folders, no filters, 250 something unread messages. My email box looks like it’s almost empty, but really everything is just neatly managed.

Maybe I just never saw it to be that important to have a neat room…just like she didn’t care about her email box.

What kind of person are you? Are you the kind of person whose home is FULL but looks like it is empty? Do you make your bed after you get up in the morning (or not?) Why? Has being married help? Do you think girls are more tidy than guys? (I know some very messy girls too…). Discuss!

So while my computer is working away backing up my files, I thought I should take this opportunity to write to you all. I am sitting right now at my desk at Yahoo! slowly sipping away my (not so cold anymore) breakfast…a glass of light vanilla soy milk. This now half full (yeah half full!) glass of milk reminds me of life’s most undeniable fact: that all good things come to an end.

Lately I have had this realization that I have a lot of free time in comparison to someone with a family. And now is the time to be a workaholic. Maybe that’s not the right word…but I have a lot of ideas for projects…and businesses I want to create, and now is the time to work on them. Because right now, I really only have to worry about myself. Although even just that seems like a lot at times, it really isn’t too difficult. Gotta find two meals a day, take a shower, and clean the place once a week. Not too hard right? So I will make sure that I make good use of this time of my life.

Speaking of making use of free time, I invented this game called Cricpong recently. It is a mix between cricket and ping pong. You can read all about this game at the wiki page I have setup for it. Some day if you are sitting in front of a table tennis table pondering about life just like I am today, then maybe you can take a whack at this game. It is actually a lot of fun :)

Ok that’s enough. Backup is done…now gotta get back to work. Take care all!

Hi, I just wanted everyone to know that I am dealing with a bug at work right now that is giving me an urge to tear my hair out. And maybe yours too, if you give me access to it. GRRRRRRRRR!

:: deep breath ::

And now back to the battle!

After Hans bhai visited KY I started exercise regularly (not everyday).I was doing some warm ups,Suryanamaskar and some pranayams. In the process of store closing everything messed up.Now the store is closed, the business is slow now so I have time. After coming back from CA I have decided to do some exercise everyday. As you all know all (most of) our resolutions do not last very long ,so I want support from everyone in my decision.I know that Hans bhaji, Jay anti bhaji,Vick,Ashish and may be some more are doing it regularly.Regularity make big difference. If you are not doing regularly, please start NOW. If you are regular inspire others.

Hey Nimit,
I think that you should create an e-mail notification system for comments. it would be easier because then we wouldn’t have to check if there were any new comments on posts made weeks ago. Just a thought.

One month in the year left. This means you have one month to do everything you wanted to do in 2005. What will you do? Just a few days left to make 2005 a year the world will start to know your name…what will you do?

Hey guys,

Congrats to Paras :) . I’m happy to hear about the S. Cali move…and a bit jealous due to the pleasant weather ;) . I must admit, though, that the weather in Chicago has been surprisingly (disturbingly) mild lately.

On a personal note, I have recently been inspired to be organized and regular. I want to wake up early every morning, and be on time everywhere. Additionally, I want to go to the gym everyday and study hard. Basic goals, but I’ve been lagging behind lately. SO what does everyone think?

BTW – Nimit!! Great job on the site. It looks hot!
