I am sorry to convey the message that Duncan’s Uncle Doug (Doug Maasa) expired this morning due to a heart attack. This is a shocking news to the family. Duncan was very close to him, so it is indeed a big loss.
Some of us will be attending the funeral. Duncan is on his way to Cape Cod and Usha and I will go along with Sheela once the arrangements are worked out.

Hello Medavo.org faithful. Medavo was down today and much of yesterday due to a mistake by Dreamhost, the host for this blog.

Hope everyone has been well! California is has been hot and sunny the last week.
Do not open emails with the subject “Graphic Site.”
This virus has been making the rounds on the net today and is especially targeted at Yahoo mail addresses, but spreads to everyone. It is unique in that it doesn’t require you to open any attachment, just opening the email causes the virus to execute.
So delete any emails with a “Graphic Site” subject!
Hi Medavoers. Dad, Baia and I had a chat about her birth date today. She was saying she was born in the Vikram Samvat year 1978. This inspired me to go learn more about the Vikram Samvat calendar system.
So then, I decided to put make the 2006 version of this calendar available on Medavo. And now the Vikram Samvat 2062 calender (translated to 2006 dates) is available at the Dates link below the birthdays and anniversaries.
If someone can tell me when paryushan will start this year, that’d be good too. Also if I am missing any other Jain dates, please let me know! Learn more about the Vikram Samvat calendar here (scroll down on that page to see more info about this calendar).
