Mom and Dad, Nani and Nana,
I love this picture, dad looking thoughtful and content, mom looking a bit apprehensive. I wonder what was going through your minds. Were you dreaming of the life you would build together?
The week of your anniversary, mom baked 6 cakes for the babus’ 4th birthday, one that looked just like a Thomas Train, better than any professional cake I’ve seen. She also wrote 2 new poems (or maybe more….). I called home from work on the evening of the 11th and wished dad a happy anniversary. I asked what he and mom did. He said that they had an extra long and very special swadhyay session. He was writing down his thoughts from that session.
Your relationship and marriage continue to inspire me daily.
Wishing you continued productivity and spiritual enlightenment for years to come.
Love,
Sheela, Duncan, Anand, Umed
Kite flying seems easy, until you attempt to get a kite up on your own…
Your passion and persistent efforts over the past few years have allowed your dreams to soar with Namati. Tania has been an amazing support through challenges and setbacks. We are proud of you both! Happy Birthday!
Love,
Mom, Dad, Sheela, Chin, Dunc, Umed, and Anand
To love. To be loved. To never forget your own insignificance. To never get used to the unspeakable violence and vulgar display of life around you. To seek joy in he saddest of places. To pursue beauty to its lair. To never simplify what is complicated or complicate what is simple. To respect strength, never power. Above all, to watch. To try and understand. To never look away. And never, never forget.

Happy Third Birthday Babus! Thank you for teaching us about savoring apples and breathing fresh air.
Happy 36th birthday V! (one day late)
We are impressed with your energy and commitment to fitness in-spite of your hectic travel schedule. On the day you came back from India you went to a Capoeira class, and the next day, early in the morning, you were back there again! We will learn from you today to integrate some form of exercise we are passionate about into our daily life.
A proposal: learn one thing from the person you are giving birthday wishes to!
We love you V! Best wishes for a wonderful year ahead.

To all of the fathers in our family– you give us strength, you are our role models, your love is infinite. Happy Father’s Day!
And a special hug for the newest father on the block Dunc daddy– You have far surpassed any expectations I had, with your expertise in swaddling and consoling, diaper changing and singing lullabies, at ALL hours of the day and night. I already see the tears in your eyes when you hold Anand and Umed, your love is growing day after day. I know you were nervous during the last nine months about what kind of father you’d be. You should be proud today because you are an amazing dad.
Love,
Sheela (mom!), Anand, and Umed
Wow… that was a surprise. I didn’t even know what a bridal shower was.
It’s surprise (if you’re like me and can’t figure out that 40 people
are hanging out in your house while you’re being “held” in a room
upstairs), being with the people you love and who inspire you,
getting embarrassed by them, eating a painful amount of panda and
baklava, wearing a crispy hairdo, singing songs, feeling like a 1 in a
million daughter/daughter-in-law/sister/friend, and reading a big book
of my most fun and funny memories.
I feel clean, showered, and ready for a life with dunco!
hey all
this is really really late… but when jyoti fui sent those pics, i remembered how great the engagement ceremony was. i was so happy to have so many of you there to share this turning point with me. mom and dad for putting up with my stubborness about having it at home with only family and then putting in every effort to make it beautiful, vivs and chins for flying in international (they put “saving the world” on hold

sheela
