Even though we were raksha bandhan was yesterday, we were lucky to be able to share it with each other at our family reunion.
One of my friends wrote this poem for his sister on Raksha Bandhan and I wanted to share it with all of you.
—
In the month of Shravanna on a full moon night,
We’re reminded of how family makes everything just right
Protection is granted from sister to brother,
Because for that cause, he would rather have no other
The brother-sister bond is something no one can break,
Brothers and sisters stick together no matter the mistake
Each man is lucky to have such protection throughout his life
Because these women have been there far longer than any wife.
Symbolized by the tying of the rakhi,
Many a pair have celebrated this tradition,
Including Krishna and Draupadi
But this goes back farther
To the time when Sachi tied on Indra a simple thread
To help ensure that in his battle with the demon Vritra,
He would not return dead
So celebrate the day and enjoy each and every sweet,
Raksha Bandhan is a time to celebrate
Because the brother-sister combination cannot be beat

HAPPY RAKSHA BANDHAN TO ALL OUR BROTHERS! We love you and wish you the best in everything that you take on in life!

I know many people use Wikipedia to look up random information. Here is an interesting article about whether or not you should trust everything you read on there….
Hey Chintan,
Wish you a very happy birthday. I thought it was August 22nd and I checked the birth-dates today in Medavo and found that it was on Aug 20th.
Hope you had a great day and my best wishes with you.

The best way to save face is to keep the lower part shut !
source unknown.
I am really amazed with the huge lesson in this simple quote, I think sometimes keeping the lower part shut can save a lot of things, just wanted to share with everyone, because I for sure, have a lot to learn from this little quote.

Long years ago we made a tryst with destiny, and now the time comes when we shall redeem our pledge, not wholly or in full measure, but very substantially. At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom. A moment comes rarely in history, We are celebrating our 60th year of Independence.
Happy Independence Day.
