Happy birthday Dipti! I hope you have a wonderful day. The skies are weeping with happiness for you.
I also want to sincerely apologize for being absent from Medavo for the last few months. My internet access is poor in Sierra Leone but now I am back and would like to be more in touch while I’m here.
I want to send ^sincere^ though belated birthday wishes to Mitesh, Ashish, Dad, Vasu fui, Avni, and Duncan ji. And happy anniversary wishes to Vishal and Dipti, Jayanti Kaka and Jaya Kaki, and Jyoti Fui and Suresh fua. (have I forgotten anyone else from the last few months?). And to thank you all for your happy birthday wishes to me in march, which were a warm touch of home while I was far away.
Paras somehow the fact that you dove from 10,000 ft. had escaped me! I’d love to jump with you next time.
It was great to see some of you in Cleveland, and some of you in Norwalk.
just to take a poll: anybody supporting barack obama for 2008?
and another: anybody read any outstanding books lately? I love “Creation” by E.O. Wilson: an appeal from a renowned evolutionary biologist (I took his class in college) for science and religion to put aside their differences and make common cause to save our environmental heritage. It is such a compelling argument, expressed with both passion and reason.
also: our program in sierra leone has a website now, have a look at timapforjustice.org
nim- is the poetry site online yet?
Much love,
vivek

AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY JYOTI FUI!
AND HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO MANU KAKA AND NALINI KAKI!
Thanks Vivek, Welcome back…and the site looks awesome
Welcome Back Vivek Hope you will stay connected now on.
thanks and welcome back viv be in touch.
Welcome Vivek,
I am in Chaicago and already I hear president Obama. Sounds great. Todays news about the violance on an university campus was disturbing. Society needs a lot of loving communications. Will read the book you have suggested.
Love you mom.
Hi Vivek,
. I have just glanced at the website, but I will take a look at it later. I hope you are enjoying yourself! Take care.
Thanks for the wishes. It is nice to hear from you. As for the President, I am not sure who should win, but anyway I am not a citizen
Mitesh
Viv,
Happy to have you back on Medavo and may be we can have active participation from you regularly.
Your website looks good and I have seen it in past as well and I don’t think OBAma will win. Country as a whole is not ready for that yet in my opinion. (Rural USA)
I have not read the book and may be read in future sometime. Would love to do lot of things in future but time is the shortend.
Vivek bhai! A pleasure to hear from you once more. You mentioned about books…I am reading a book called “Seeing What’s Next.” Its a book by a business school professor from your alma mater. The book talks about the very interesting dynamics of how incumbent businesses get trumped by entrants and how to see this coming. The classic example they use is that of Western Union and how their billion dollar telegraph business was beat by Bell and the telephone. Turns out that Bell had offered to sell the telephone technology to Western Union for just $100k, but the execs at WU turned it down calling the telephone a “toy.”
Work has also been busy but equally rewarding. The poetry site is (believe it or not) almost done, but had to be put on a back burner in favor of a project I am working on at work currently.
The project is actually from an idea I had 4-5 months back. My friend and I started working on it as a side project in our free time (pushing it up from the grass roots level instead of top down) and finally we got it to stick and now we have been given a few months to drop everything and work on it and build it into a public product. So we both have been super excited and also very busy with that…that should be coming out within a month or so!
Barak — from what I’ve learned about him (mostly his website and from everyone here who supports him), he sounds great. The democratic ticket will be a groundbreaking one regardless…likely either a woman, or a black man…so I’m excited either way.
You squeezed many topics into one post, so I think my comment to your post has almost become a post on its own…so, I will get back to work!
Hope to catch up soon on the phone, take care in the meantime.
Good job Vivek, welcome…. It was so nice to see you in Ceveland, love to see your moves in dancing. About your post, what a great bargain Vivek…covering so many occasion into one post. we love to see you on medavo, keep in touch.
Good seeing you on Medavo, Vivek…It was good seeing you in Cleveland although didn’t get to spend much time together. I just glanced at your site. Looks great. will see it in detail soon.
When are u visiting us in Queens? By the way, we’re planning to take Parth out to Prospect park this weekend… should be fun.
vivek bhai…. welcome back.. it’s nice to see your post after a long time. I am doing good but very busy as end of semester is approaching. Talk to you sometime soon…
Hi Vivek… thank you for your best wishes. I did catch a glance of you at Cleveland. However, was running away from the crowd with my lil’ one for a while and missed chatting with you. Do plan a trip to NY sometime. It will be nice to spend more time with you.
Take care
Nimit ,after seeing your comment I remember a verse, Comment jo aisi hai to Post kaisi hogi! Nice comment.
