Paras, Happy Birthday man. i was all geared up to write this post, but then, when i opened up Medavo, i saw your post. well, heres a quote from a book im reading now: Death must be fought with life, and that means courage and that means joy, said the Bard from his place beneath the apple trees.
“Nobody told me life would be harder than death.”
the book constantly talks about the battle between life and death, and i think it is partially true.
so with this quote, i leave you, paras, to turn 24 (wow your ooold!).

You never said I’m leaving
You never said goodbye
You were gone before I knew it,
And only God knew why
A million times I needed you,
A million times I cried
If Love alone could have saved you,
You never would have died
In Life I loved you dearly
In death I love you still
In my heart you hold a place,
That no one could ever fill
It broke my heart to lose you,
But you didn’t go alone
For part of me went with you,
On my birthday that God took you home.
Hey guys. Long time no post! Thought I would just give everyone an update of what I have been up to the last month or so that I haven’t been commenting on Medavo. A good part of the Yahoo Travel’s pages are being completely re-architected and redesigned. The engineering piece of this project has been going on for about 2 ½ months (the designing started about 4 months back). I am one of the two engineers leading this project, so the whole last 2 ½ months have been really busy (especially the last month or so). Again I’ve been working around 90-100 hr weeks getting this project ready to be released on time.
The hours, though long, have been a lot of fun (for the most part). We’ve gotten a whole lot accomplished, and I’ve also learned a lot in the process. However, its not always fun staying at work till 4:30am (like right now) and then going back to work at 10 am next morning
This weekend I was in LA for a day to attend my co-worker Vineet’s wedding. It was a lot of fun, and quite busy. We got to LA right before the wedding started, and left the morning after. So it was kind of hectic….but still a lot of fun.
Next weekend I will be going back to my alma mater, University of Illinois to do some recruiting for Yahoo! I’m very excited as I’ve never gone on one of these recruiting trips before. I will also be going to see Dhenu and Mitesh in Chicago the weekend before, and then Owensboro to visit home, only for 1 day though . Then I will fly to Kansas City to visit some of my friends from there! So yes, this will be a FULL week, and a TON of fun. I can’t wait to visit the Midwest again.
Ok that is all, hope everyone is well, too bad Agassi lost, and much love to all.
We reached back safely to Mumbai, India. Flight journey was good.
Remembering our 2 month vacation, we had a glorious time with all of you.

We visited Michigan ave in Chicago Downtown and one shop which is noteworthy is the doll store which was simply amazing. We did window shopping in Tiffany and ate ghirardelli icecream in Chicago downtown.

We also went for derasar nu sthapan in Newburgh, Indiana. I am glad my picture came in the local times of Owensboro. We also drove to St. Louis in Missouri with Nalini bhabhi and ami to go visit the Arch and the derasar and paras and ami also went to see the tennis match played by Pete Sampras. The Arch was a wonderful piece of architecture and we saw a video of the making of the Arch and also went to the top via a lift. It was an amazing view from the top. We took some very nice pictures.
We flew from there on 3rd August for Nimit’s place in San Jose. Next day visited Mystery spot, Derasar and had healthy lunch at nimit’s yahoo campus. We again in the evening went to Derasar for their 6th anniversary celebrations. Next day, Nimit showed us around the campus of yahoo, gym and then we left for San Fransisco.

We were amazed by the slopy roads of San Fransisco… so hilly area. we went on the 49 mile drive and our last stop was twin peaks which is in the center of san fransisco and on all sides.,, you can see san fransisco downtown, golden gate bridge , bay bridge. it was amazing view.
Next day early morning we left for Yosemite National Park.

The drive was long but the place is worth it. Paras went hiking at both the waterfalls – Bridal Viel and Yosemite main waterfall. Reached back home late.
Next day we left for Los Angeles via Route 1 which is a road which goes coast to coast.
We also stopped by Hearst Castle which is a castle built couple of decades back. The architecture is amazing and the decors inside are worth a watch.
We reached Los Angeles late at night and dropped Paras at his new home at USC and stayed at hotel near LAX.
Next day, we checked downtown LA, Kodak Theater, the HOLLYWOOD sign and went to Kalyanji Uncle’s house for dinner.
Next day, we saw Paras’s USC campus, LA Derasar and had dinner at paras’s host family Dhiraj and Jyoti Aunty’s house.
Next day, early morning we left for Grand Canyon which is like a 7 hour drive from LA. Reached Grand Canyon in the evening. We were able to see the sunset which was beautiful as the vibrant colors of the rainbow.

Next day, early morning we woke up at 4:30 to see the sunrise and we could see the sun rising from behind the grand canyon’s. What an amazing view. ah ha..
We left Grand Canyon in the morning for Las Vegas enroute to Hoover Dam. Hoover Dam is another amazing piece of construction which was built to provide water to Las Vegas and electricity to Los Angeles. We reached Las Vegas in the night and saw one hotel Venice. The Ronak and lighting of this city is amazing.
Next day, we saw Bellagio(Live Flowers and the fountain show), Alladin, Paris and Luxar.
Paras left on 14th and then we visited the convention for a day and rest days visited all the remaining hotels. We reached back CT on 17th night and left for Boston the next day to spend the weekend with Ashish and Nilam.
Mount Washington was lots of fun with everybody. neevudi is mast…. We came back to Brookfield and next day left for Niagara and Canada with Hans bha. We got to meet Pradip and kalpana and vyom. Also met Damyanti Ben’s son Harsh, his wife and small kid. We had dinner at their place and also visited Downtown Toronto.

Niagara Falls were definitely worth a dekho. We came back and went to Siddhachalam on 27th for whole day. We did puja, pratikraman in english. An eventful day with family and also met Navin from NJ.

We spent the next few days at Jyoti’s house and the last few days with bai and Jayanti bha and jaya bhabhi in Norwalk.
Our entire trip is coming to an end. Thank you everybody for your love and the times we shared together. It will be etched in our memories forever.

Love,
Jagdish – Vasu
