After work yesterday, at about 8pm, I went to the gym to work out. My usual workout consists of running for 20-25 mins or so, and then lifting weights. I usually run with my mp3 player…which is nice, listening to good music is a good timepass while running. I was under the impression (as you maybe) that I would prefer to listen to upbeat…dhastik dhustik songs while running. Some crazy bhangra or hip hop songs and such. That is what I usually did…but yesterday, it just happened that when I hit play on the mp3 player, Ghulam Ali’s version of Woh Jo Hum Mein Tum Mein came on. This is a very serene ghazal…that I usually listen to it during late nights when I am working. For some reason, I decided to not change the song…and it went on, and I kept running. Then 6-7 minutes later, it changed to Itni Muddat Bad Mile Ho…and that went on, and I kept running. And before I knew it… almost15 minutes had passed! I was really enjoying this Ghulam Ali run.
So I guess there is no real point to this post, except for pointing out my discovery that when you are running, you don’t have to be listening to crazy up beat music to be inspired to keep going
And since showering is a popular topic nowadays…I took a hot shower in the gym after my workout, and man it felt GREAT!
